Fun Day

The primary classes were functioning six days a week similar to the higher classes till the academic year 2013-14. Later, it was decided to have classes for 5 days a week for primary classes to reduce the students’ stress and also to provide time for pursuing their hobbies and areas of interest. Saturdays were utilized for the professional development of primary teachers.Again it has been made six days a week for primary children. But, the Saturdays will be observed as Fun Day to create fun and to engage children in recreational activities.
In our Vidyalaya, the Fun Day commenced from 27.04.2019 onwards. We have a set of pre scheduled activities to make the children enjoy their Fun Day and to develop their skills in various aspects . Activities like games, film shows, art, origami, mass singing, communication skill classes, role play, club activities etc., are taken up.
We have planned to call for a general body meeting for parents to find parents who volunteer themselves to conduct some sessions on Saturdays which would benefit our children.We have a table top puppet theatre and will be organizing puppet shows for our children like the previous academic year. Each teacher would be given a chance to organize the same.We have also planned to conduct remedial classes parallelly for the slow learners to strengthen their reading, writing and arithmetic skills(RRR).The students’ strength made us realize that it is a real day for fun and recreation and we could find that they enthusiastically come to school on that day.
